Updates

All Secondary students, staff and visitors are required to wear a face covering in communal spaces, including in classrooms, until further notice. Please ensure your child attends school with a plain face covering every day.

A reminder to all students, parents and families: The Omicron Variant spreads rapidly and it is important we keep ourselves, our loved ones and our communities safe. You can read more about the variant here.

Lateral Flow Testing: Please continue your twice weekly testing in order to keep our community safe.

Please do not send your children to school if they have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 10 days or are showing symptoms of Covid-19 and awaiting a test/result. Please inform the school immediately so the attendance records can be updated.

Year 9 home learning

Dear parents/carers unfortunately due to continued staff absence Y9 will need to remain at home and complete online lessons until Thursday 26th January. Please ensure your child logs onto their MS Teams tutor page and registers at 8.20 each morning with their tutor. All lessons will be on MS Teams by 8.30 each day; students will follow their usual timetable. We will expect all Y9 students back into school on Thursday 27th January.

Welcome from our Principal, Ms McSorley

I am delighted and proud to welcome you to Ark Victoria Academy, a family school in the heart of Small Heath. I joined our academy in 2019 and am working hard with our pupils and staff to make sure our school continues to improve. We want to provide an excellent education for each and every one of our pupils.

As Principal, it is my responsibility to create an environment in which your child can become a confident, articulate, resilient and kind young adult. Our curriculum, enrichment programme and student experience days, help ensure our pupils learn, thrive and make progress. We are committed to preparing and supporting our pupils to go on to pursue careers they are passionate about, contributing positively to society and living happy, healthy and fulfilled lives. Our school community works hard to ensure our values of being ambitious, resilient and kind underpin our work and are upheld by us all.

We know that all children can and will achieve success and our dedicated staff work hard to nurture, support and provide challenge, to make this a reality. We welcome and value the input of carers and parents; together, we work hard to help realise the dreams and ambitions of our children and their families.

Please take a look around our website to find out what we can offer your child.  The best way to really understand our school is to experience it.  I would love to show you around and answer any questions you may have.

Please contact my PA Ms Helen King: h.king@arkvictoria.org  to arrange a visit.
